Very nice gig in Jølster, sognefjorden in west coast of Norway. We played in Eikaas gallery, very nice pictures and atmosphere in the room. and at least fantastic promoters. Thanks a lot. You made the evening magic Me and Karl Seglem are very happy for this gig and also for the gig the day before in Bergen (Chagall).

Concert in Skåre Kulturkirke Haugesund (Norway) 18.nov. Marvelous! Fantastic sound and nice audience AND promoter. We had poems from Roalkvam, our own songs, saophone, flute, piano, and mumling and “summing”:-) Great! Thanks.

Con il suo quinto album, Elin Furubotn esce per la prima volta dai confini discografici norvegesi. Come suona chiaro sin dai titoli, non si tratta delle solite jazz songs anglosassoni. Oltre alla lingua, anche le
melodie portano l’impronta della loro terra d’origine, per quanto proiettate entro strutture e strumentazioni internazionali:

virtù della globalizzazione della canzone d’autore. Anche se gli assoli di sax cercano di dare una parvenza di jazz (che suona demodé sopra queste linee ritmiche), siamo in ogni caso davanti a un prodotto cantautoriale che della tradizione afroamericana non sa che farsene. Alcuni brani profumano di fiordo; altri sono electropop con un occhio alle playlists radiofoniche; altrove spunta mood music esistenzialista. Il finale dimostra senza dubbi che l’inglese si distende sulla musica assai più agevolmente del norvegese.
